Hello, I’m Emma

I haven’t always been concerned with health, in fact until recent years I can hardly say it was a priority at all. In my young adult years and at University I had three favourite things in life. I call them the three ‘p’s; pasta, pesto and partying. I ate and drank what I wanted, when I wanted.

It wasn’t until my mid-twenties I started to think about health, or what I thought at the time was health (diet and exercise). Funnily enough I started to struggle hugely with depression, over-exercising, and a hugely restrictive diet. At the time I thought I was struggling with body image, which to an extent I was, but upon reflection I realise it was a control / perfectionist issue. I had been through a bad break-up, was living in a city I hated, and working in an office job. I felt like I was losing control of my life and I ended up controlling the only thing I could – diet and exercise. I became so thin that I lost my period, and I didn’t have another one for another two and a half years.

When I put my needs and wants first I really started to notice a change in my health, both physically and mentally. I left London and moved to Verbier in Switzerland and ever since then, my relationship with health has been a journey. Although my periods came back and I felt happier, it wasn’t until I started studying to be a health coach my perspective on health really changed for the better.

I realised there is so much more to health than being fit and eating well. I started to understand the mental side to health, and that in striving for perfection I was actually doing more harm to myself than good. I exercised when I wanted to rather than when I felt I had to. My mind set shifted to look at food from a nourishing perspective rather than restrictive perspective.

I truly believe that to achieve a happy, healthy life we need to look at all areas of life and nourish ourselves both off and on the plate. In my coaching practice I create a safe space for you to explore your health and happiness to help you achieve your goals. I help individuals take ownership of their mental and emotional health so they can truly understand their relationship with food.

I am a qualified Institute if Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. I am based in Switzerland and work with a range of clients, both online and in-person, specialising in their relationship with ‘health’ and food.
